Companion
Companionship is the relationship or fellowship between an employee and a client for the purpose of socialization, escort and/or respite for family members for a short or long period of time.
Essential duties and responsibilities
The Companion responsibilities are to assist in activities related to socialization as follows:
- Assists with light household tasks such as preparation and serving of light snacks.
- Light shopping and one stop errand.
- Escorts to doctor’s appointments, nutrition sites, and walks.
- Encourages in recreational activities such as playing cards, hobbies, crafts, reading and writing correspondence.
- Engage the client in conversation on light topics.
